Count Arthur Strong's Radio Show

We decided to go and see Count Arthur Strong at the Palace Theatre in Newark on Wednesday.
I don't know if you have ever heard of him but he has become a bit of a legend in the cult radio show on Radio 4.  He has just completed his seventh series. You can read all about him here
The Count is played by Stephen Delaney and is absolutely hilarious.  It is basically a sitcom about an old actor who goes about his daily life in somewhat of a daze as his memory fades and his grasp of the English language becomes more and more confused. He gets tongue tied and the more he tries to correct himself the worse it gets.
If you get chance to listen to the repeats of his radio show on Channel Four Extra please do as he is very funny and seems to appeal to all ages.

The theatre was great.  The staff were so friendly.  We arrived really early as we went straight from work.  We were the first there and they weren't really ready for us.  It didn't matter though they just prepared around us and we sat and had a coffee and biscuits until everyone else arrived.

Fradley Junction

It's been so long since I last posted and I've missed you all very much. I could give you all sorts of excuses but I won't bore you.  Let's move on.
Last Sunday Steve and I decided for certain that we would like to own our own narrow boat.  It has been on the cards for a while but now it's full steam ahead (pardon the pun) and we're saving like crazy.
We now regret not doing the saving first before we decided but that's life.
In a bid to get in the boating mood we set off to Fradley Junction which is near Lichfield in Staffordshire.  It is about ninety minutes from where we live in Doncaster and the weather was pretty good.

Believe it or not it was quite busy whilst we were there with boats moving from one canal to the other.
Fradley Junction is the meeting point of the Trent and Mersey canal and the Coventry canal.
There's something very special about canals and boats that I can't quite put in to words but if you've ever had a holiday on one you'll know exactly what I mean.  I have yet to meet anyone who hasn't enjoyed themselves whilst messing about in boats.
I couldn't resist taking a picture of this little fellow.  Isn't he cute?
There was an extremely cosy pub too.  We don't usually bother as we prefer to use the daylight hours being outside but on this occasion we popped in for a swift half.  The meals looked tasty and the beer was delicious.

Where do I begin.  We've had such a busy week.  Stratford, Wedding Anniversary, 21st Birthday Party and last night a massive Diversity show. Ladies and Gentlemen I give you Diversity.  The rest can wait.
The pictures do not do the show justice.  It was amazing.  The crowd were electric, screaming, cheering, clapping. The noise was deafening.

This was a creepy crawly which moved with the music.
The group started in Perri's home where Diversity were playing a new computer game.  Somehow they got sucked in to it and then had to get through different levels of the game, fighting baddies along the way, in order to escape.
These outfits lit up.
Poor Ashley. His suit had a power cut.
Ashley Banjo
Fortunately this was sorted before he flew off the stage.  Look at that bone structure!!
The special effects were out of this world.

And finally all back after completing the game - Phew!
The End
I have never seen anything like it.  We were sat on the edge of our seats.  The atmosphere was fantastic.
My ears are still ringing.
Thanks Diversity for a great night.
